The topic of water pollution needs to be addressed because it is a huge issue to the animals but also to people. According to the Planet Aid, 70 percent of the oxygen we breathe is produced by marine plants and 97 percent of the world's water supply is contained in the ocean. Everyday there are many toxic chemicals being disposed in the ocean that is affecting marine life. Some of the toxic chemicals are oil, lead, mercury, etc. This kind of chemicals can cause many diseases and get people sick because we drink from the water that comes from the ocean and many animals are dying from the toxic ocean. Did you know that it takes 400 years for a plastic bottle to dissolve and aluminium takes up to 200 years. Image weas people are destroying the ocean and the ocean gives us oxygen and water and this is how we pay back the ocean by polluting it. We may think that our trash is being destroyed but it is being dumped is some island and we are just polluting others environment. Did you also know that in the city of Compton, the community was having a problem with their water because it was not sanitary. They had to buy water bottles and it showed that they are contributing to the continuous use of plastic bottles and it will be going into the ocean affecting marine animals.
